Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Type something to bring up quick find 2. Switch to another window (any app should do) 3. Wait for quick find to time out Am using xfwm4 for window manager, don't know if that makes a difference.

Can't repro on Win Vista using: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.0.4) Gecko/2008102920 Firefox/3.0.4, probably Linux only.

I see this with KDE 3.5.9 and Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.0.3) Gecko/2008111010 Gentoo Firefox/3.0.3 as well.
I can confirm with Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.0.6) Gecko/2009020911 Ubuntu/8.10 (intrepid) Firefox/3.0.6, using Sawfish window manager.
Confirming, can one of you test this on latest-1.9.1 ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/nightly/latest-mozilla-1.9.1/ and latest-mozilla-central ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/nightly/latest-mozilla-central/ .
