When I change my votes for bugs at bugzilla.mozilla.org, I get 'connection interrupted' after pressing the 'change my votes' button.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Find a bug in bugzilla
2. vote for the bug
3. click the 'change my votes' button
Actual Results:  
Connection Interrupted
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Please try again.


Expected Results:  
Re-display of my votes list

I have votes registered for more than 700 bugs; maybe that's part of the problem.

Do you get the error immediately or does it sit for a few minutes before the error happens?

It sits for a few minutes.  I believe it usually posts the vote change(s) and then fails.

Sounds like a performance issue of some sort...

We have no local modifications to the voting code, so this issue must exist upstream as well.

I suspect the deadlock mentioned in this innodb status report is probably related.

This may indicate that the there are too many locks being taken on the votes table (in addition to whatever else is causing these deadlocks). Definitely something worth looking into, because I have certainly observed performance problems with bmo that seem like locking issues.
