- with a mozilla or pre-packaged commercial build from 7/27/00, go to above url

see the dialog that says "Netscape cannot find the Plugin Downloader Plugin ...". 
In mozilla builds, if you click ok and let the page run, we get tons of asserts 
about setting the font in the window manager port, which is very very bad.

nominating for beta2, this is pretty bad that it can't find the plugin, and very 
very bad that we're writing to the WM port!

Adding edburns. Perhaps we should disable the thing on Mac till we get the Mac 
version of the default plugin.

AV, I agree we should disable the no-default-plugin dialog on all platforms that
don't yet have the default plugin.  

Can someone add this to the prefs file on JUST THOSE PLATFORMS THAT DON"T HAVE
the default plugin?

"plugin.display_plugin_downloader_dialog" false

I can do this if someone posts the right files to modify to this bug.

Putting on [NEED INFO] radar. PDT needs to know impact to user and risk of fix 
to make a call on this bug. If we disable the dialog, what will the user see?  
have we tested this on an optimized build?

Impact to user: if they visit a page that has a plugin type for which there is
no plugin, they will see nothing where the plugin should be.

I don't know if this has been tested on an optimized build, but it shouldn't be
a problem if prefs has been tested on an optimized builg.

nsbeta2-, live with it for now.  Why don't we have a default plugin plugin on
Mac & Linux?
