Hello, Ill be starting work on the migration of SFX to D6 in December and wanted to open a discussion of how best to manage all of drupal code. Currently we keep all of the drupal code in SVN and any security patches to core/contributed modules or upgrades are committed to SVN by a developer and then pushed out to production What i want to consider now is instead of operating as above would it be better from an organizational point of view to: 1. keep the drupal core and contributed modules out of subversion and only have our bespoke modules in subversion @ sites/all/modules/sfx and have our theme from raincity studios re-factored so that the additional work done to the zen theme is written as a theme derivative @ sites/all/themes/zen/sfx 2.updates to drupal core and contributed modules be done outside of SVN, perhaps pulling from drupal CVS to stage and later rsyncing with production Best, Paul
It would be great to get some feedback .
Sounds fine with me. > 2.updates to drupal core and contributed modules be done outside of SVN, > perhaps pulling from drupal CVS to stage and later rsyncing with production Does drupal maintain tags of their releases that we can switch to? Whatever happens in this step needs to be documented as it would be IT doing it.

Yes , with each new release the tag version is bumped up Whatever > happens in this step needs to be documented as it would be IT doing it. Ill add something o the spreadfirefox wiki page @ https://wiki.mozilla.org/Spreadfirefox and then ill come back here to request a review to confirm that the documentation is satisfactory.
Here is my first draft of a set of wiki notes for spreadfirefox @ D6 https://wiki.mozilla.org/Spreadfirefox_Drupal6
