The preview screen with a closer shot of the designs doesn't always show high resolution images. In fact, that seems to be the case for the smaller thumbnail view in the gallery as well. They appear to be grainy. Its not something that would delay launch, but obviously an image that doesn't properly preview the design will probably not encourage clicks over to purchase! In the preview screen, I think its okay to even resize the image so its smaller, but at least higher resolution. Whatever you think works best. And if we can get this fixed before launch, even better. Some poor previews include: https://community-store.authstage.mozilla.com/gallery/view/134 https://community-store.authstage.mozilla.com/gallery/view/84 https://community-store.authstage.mozilla.com/gallery/view/83 https://community-store.authstage.mozilla.com/gallery/view/86 Some good ones include: https://community-store.authstage.mozilla.com/gallery/view/80 https://community-store.authstage.mozilla.com/gallery/view/79
I poked through the resize code and found a way to resample and resize the images, which improves the image quality a lot. Because we are launching tomorrow, this will have to go into a later release.

I think a bug like this should block the launch. Speaking as someone who hasn't been involved with this project my first impression is the front page, awesome, and then the browse page, which is filled with grainy, aliased images. Even clicking on the images doesn't provide a view without the jagged lines. We ask for high resolution photos but there isn't anywhere a user can see a photo larger than a couple hundred pixels wide - it looks like the actual designs might be this grainy. Also, there's no reason for a visitor to think that the final shirts won't look like these images. I think it's worth it to delay (a day? a week?) to add a little more polish to the site and kick it off looking it's best.
I agree with Wil's comments and per my discussion with Tara, we're moving this to a 1.0 blocker.

Thanks Wil, I think we all agreed that an extra push to fix the design presentation will be a good thing. And so far the updates have been a big improvement. I was sampling the previews, and I feel some still appear grainy and pixely around the edges. Thoughts? Here are a few: http://community-store.stage.mozilla.com/gallery/view/137 http://community-store.stage.mozilla.com/gallery/view/147 http://community-store.stage.mozilla.com/gallery/view/83
One more nit pick - on the zoomed in preview page there isn't enough padding around the design. They seem to be stuck to the right edge of the frame. This one shows it best: http://community-store.stage.mozilla.com/gallery/view/137

It looks awesome now. When I checked last night it didn't look good :) Perhaps the updates hadn't all set in. Regardless, all good now. Padding is great, resolution quality on both thumbnail and preview is top notch. Great work.
