468716 - Reintroduce Ctrl+Tab preview

After downloading FF3.1b2 I realized that the Ctrl+Tab preview, my most loved feature in FF3.1b1 was suddenly gone, according to http://blog.mozilla.com/meeting-notes/ : 'Removed the new tab-switching behavior based on feedback from users'

I don't know where this feedback came from and what really was the reason for doing it, but at least this was something which was not clearly communicated to the mozilla community. For me, this feature worked great, and really was a great improvement in usability.

So I have strong feelings to get this feature into the default build again, and would be at least very interested, to get the reasons for the removal communicated to the mozilla community.

It was simply not ready for 3.1 and was removed. (bug 465843)
A new and improved version is in the works on trunk:

You can use the extension for now:

Although its maxVersion does not include beta 2.  But I'll assume as a beta user you can handle that.

More precisely, that "new and improved version" is what wasn't good enough for beta 2, in contrast to the first version that was in beta 1.

Duping against bug 465076, where a real new design is being implemented.
