I can choose a search engine from the drop-down box, I can enter the serach-text. But when hitting the return key nothing happens. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.enter text in search bar 2.hit the return key 3. Actual Results: nothing happens Expected Results: open a new tab and show the search results

Edmund: are you familiar with about:config? http://www.mozillazine.org/misc/about:config/#edit has some instructions if you aren't. It would be good if you could use it to javascript.options.showInConsole to true, and then check the Error Console (in the Tools menu) after trying to use the search bar. You should see an error, and posting it here will help us debug.
