User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.4; en-US; rv:1.9.0.5) Gecko/2008120121 Firefox/3.0.5 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.4; en-US; rv:1.9.0.5) Gecko/2008120121 Firefox/3.0.5 Bookmarked pages not picking up pagename when being bookmarked; pagename can be entered manually but URL of pagename also not being picked up in bookmark. Have reset bookmarks using option-key at startup with no change. Appears to partially resemble bugs 451894, 437159, and 465631, all having status=RESO. Also notice that History does not display recently navigated pages but instead refers to bookmarks menu. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Firefox 3.0.5 2.Navigate to page; bookmark page 3.Open Organize bookmarks or else use bookmarks to return to page bookmarked Actual Results: End up with a bookmark with incorrect url and when nav'd to by bookmarks menu you end up at a recent URL not the bookmarked URL Expected Results: correct bookmarked page should be returned to using bookmark menu Reluctantly have started using Safari and avoiding Firefox but Safari is less functionally rich so would prefer that Firefox worked correctly as it has since I first started using it years ago.
Have you tried in safe Mode?

Have determined this is only happening on my Macbook which is running OSX 10.4.11. I will re-contact Applecare about this but it is clearly some kind of interdependency between Firefox and the current level of OSX. BTW Firefox all other things being equal operates far more quickly on the Macbook than does Safari so I continue to try to use it on this platform.
Did you try in safe mode, as asked above?
Sorry not to have responded to your question earlier. Yes, have started in safe mode including resetting bookmarks to Firefox defaults with no success. Finally removed Firefox from the Macbook and downloaded and reinstalled it. This led to initially correct bookmarks behavior but has the same corruption has begun again. As I mentioned I will be calling Applecare about this since it's limited to my Macbook but I will keep firefox developers in the loop about what I learn.
If this is working when you reinstall, it sounds like you are making a change that is causing this like an extension). Create a new profile, and read http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes for more info.
