We need the database on support-stage.mozilla.org synced on a daily basis, so we can run action log queries (which are used to weekly metrics).
Is it possible to build these types of functions into the admin interface?
They are already in the admin interface.  Unfortunately the queries are slow (as in will cause pages to IT) due to returning lots of data (ie not solvable through tuning) and the dumps take a long time to download.

We have asked for a tools server (bug 467829) but this gives us a workaround.
Does it make sense to use the dumps at khan:/data/backup-drop/c01/mysql/support_mozilla_org for analysis instead?  It seems like we run in to problems when we start syncing prod over the top of stage.
Yeah, that is what we have been doing.  However, the dumps are getting really big (takes me more than half an hour to download and I have FIOS) and khan is slow as anything (see bug 465456).

Once we get a tools server the problem will go away.  What's the eta on bug 467829?
