New mail badge on dock icon won't go away even when all filtered mail has been read

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. set one or more filters 
2. read the new mail in the destination folder
3. new mail badge will not vanish from dock icon unless you click 'Inbox',
  despite the fact that there is no new mail in any folder
Actual Results:  
new mail badge remains

Expected Results:  
new mail badge should be cleared when all new mail has been read

Should be a dupe of bug #313694.

Feel free to reopen it if I'm wrong.
