after installing this program, you cannot have two separate firefox instances running on two different desktops. IE can handle it but firefox cant. This desktop program is likely something that will be implemented in windows 7 so I think this issue is important

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. install http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/cc817881.aspx
2. open firefox on one desktop
3. switch to another desktop and try to run firefox
Actual Results:
i got a firefox error

Expected Results:
firefox should have opened
Sysinternals 'desktops' creates separate explorer processes for each desktop. Any program started from one desktop can't communicate with programs started from another.

Unless there's some special way for them to communicate after all, this is pretty much bug 135137.

I sure hope 7 will solve the problem in a more conventional way. "desktops" has many more limitations caused by this fundamental design decision. Many other programs don't work on two desktops either (such as instant messengers).
You can only run one instance of firefox with one firefox profile.
