Details

It seems that Flashblock does something to prevent the Flash plug-in from ever fully unloading. Due to what seems to be a Flash leak (see bug 437925, bug 472676), this results in high levels of background CPU use as the Flash leak grows. STR: 1) Enable/Disable Flashblock 2) Visit http://video.nytimes.com 3) Play movie 4) Close tab 5) Note that CPU use is still high if Flashblock was enabled, but low if Flashblock was disabled.

It might be interesting to do some rough checks to see if this is a regression or not; bug 472676 initially reported this behavior, and that bug was filed with b1.

I think this bug as filed is a dupe of bug 474022; see jst's bug 474022 comment 22. Please retest with that patch ;)
