I have two replies to an Outlook msg with subject "AW: text" ("AW: " is Outlook
German's broken translation for "Re: "), both sent by me, but one with 4.x Linux
and one with 4.x Win. The headers seem to be identical, but the msg from Linux
isn't sorted as reply, but new thread.
This is a placeholder bug only, will add more info (incl. msg source) when I
have more time (tomorrow or so).

When I quickly scanned this report I was going to mark it invalid as it looked
like a 4.x bug but a closer inspection gives me the impression that it's not. My
interpretation is that it's something to do with the handling of replies sent
from Communicator 4.x for Linux when viewed in Mozilla.
So before anyone quickly marks it invalid bear this in mind.

These are treated as two messages with the same subject, neither of which has a
Re:. In 4.x, by default, these would be threaded together. This is controlled by
the boolean pref "mail.thread_without_re". The default for this pref was true in
4.x - the default seems to have been lost in 6.0. I can add it back to the
default prefs file. For now, you can add the pref to your own prefs.js and set
it to true.

did you delete your summary file, or resend the messages? We won't rethread
unless you do that.

Add one "AW: " to each subject.
Deleted "ImapMail", same result.
Will attach reduced testcase, which does *not* show the bug - odd. David, I will
send you the complete folder privately.

If I download the full folder, cut some irrelevant msgs, cut some binary
attachments down, copy to nsmail/import, open in 4.x, copy to server in another
folder, open that folder in Mozilla - everything is fine. Delete ImapMail, open
original folder - bug appears. Odd. david, any explanation?
For now, WORKSFORME :(
David, if you still want to have the (slightly cutted) folder, tell me.
