47489 - M16 sendmail error (user data missing?)

Description

user and save password check boxes don't save state
after setting up mail and entering the sendmail server FQDN
relaunch and edit the mail settings - the sendmail config
does not keep the check boxes for "use this user name" and 
"save/remember password" (or whatever the actual text is).
going through the advanced options makes no difference.
after closing the window and opening it again both are unchecked.

i am guessing this is why i can't send email and get a sendmail
contact server error.
