Please update the instructions for installing Firefox on Windows Vista and Windows XP (download.html page) * For the Windows Vista case: Step 1: - Update the screenshot with vista_step1.png - Change copy from "Start the process by clicking Run." to "Start the process by clicking Run. Depending on your connection speed, the download may take up to a few minutes. Thanks for your patience… it’ll be worth the wait!" Step 2: - Update the screenshot with vista_step2.png - Change copy from "Give permission to launch the setup wizard by clicking Continue after the file has downloaded." to "When the download has finished, click Run to launch the Mozilla Firefox setup wizard." * For the Windows XP/fallback case Step 1: - Update the screenshot with xp_step1.png - Change copy from "Start the process by clicking Save File." to "Start the process by clicking Run. Depending on your connection speed, the download may take up to a few minutes. Thanks for your patience… it’ll be worth the wait!" Step 2: - Update the screenshot with xp_step2.png - Change copy from "Give permission to launch the setup wizard by clicking Continue after the file has downloaded." to "When the download has finished, click Run to launch the Mozilla Firefox setup wizard." Thanks!

Reopening; I don't think the copy changes in comment 0 for step # 2 are correct; see the screenshot: http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=bc0fk&s=5 It's actually a sequence of "Run" followed by "Continue" due to the User-Account Control functionality. Sorry for not catching this earlier, but I just now got a chance to test the changes.

Re-closing after sitting down with Alix and Marcia (from QA), and taking a look at various grades of Vista (service-packed, un-service-packed, Home, Home Premium, Business, Ultimate). It seems the most-common case is indeed the one for which Alix optimized the instructions -- "Run" followed by "Run"; not sure what makes my Business edition's config do "Continue". We tried Admin vs. non-Admin accounts, and various IE security-zone settings, and couldn't figure it out. We can always later add something to the effect of "Click 'Continue' if prompted.", if we get reports.
