When I open a new window and click on the location bar to change the url the cursor jumps out of the location bar when I start typing. I have to wait until the default page is loaded before I can click on the location bar again and type the new url.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open new firefox window from existing firefox window
2. Click on location bar
3. Begin typing new url
Actual Results:
cursor jumps out of location bar. it seems to jump out when the auto complete menu pops up. once the default page is loaded into the new window, i can click on the location bar and change the url no problem.

Expected Results:
allow me to keep typing the new url
Example URL that your new tab is loading ?
Do you mean the google case which is known and a dupe ?
um, this has nothing to do with tabs or google. please read the description above.

if you would answer my comment#1 you would tell us an example URL that is loading. (I used http://google.com as example URl that you could mean)
I have my start page set to http://www.msnbc.msn.com. This comes up when I launch a new window or when I select "new window" from an existing firefox window.

Is that what you were looking for?

Thanks, that is what we need because not every form field steals the focus.

This should be a dupe of bug 125282

I'm not totally sure that this is a duplicate of that other bug. I've never experienced this problem before. It only appeared with the latest update of the browser a few weeks ago.
