As a stopgap measure for exptoolbar, gloda's GlodaContact contact object uses gravatar as its data source.  This is undesirable for many reasons, the most relevant probably being an extensive information leakage problem.  On the upside, no one uses it without exptoolbar installed.

Bug 119459 tracks the address book enhancement to get pictures stored in the address book.  Once that is fixed, we can easily fix the gloda problem.

However, GlodaContact will be in use in the core for Tb3, right?  If so, please nominate this bug to block Thunderbird 3.

Assuming, of course, that we will be exposing pictures as part of the core Tb3 work, of course.  And if we are, bug 199459 presumably needs to block as well.

Dan, you might have referenced the wrong bug.
Bug 199459 is an Fx progress bar bug marked Dup to a prior bug fixed for Fx/Gecko 1.7 branch.
