RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 193404

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.9.1b2) Gecko/20081201 Firefox/3.1b2
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.9.1b2) Gecko/20081201 Firefox/3.1b2

Specify the Webdings or WingDings font using CSS font-family. It falls back to the default browser font, even though I have those fonts installed.

I tried to pick them as my default browser font (bad idea all around anyway) and neither is even in the list of recognized fonts.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.style="font-family:Webdings, monospace" on any element or in style block or style sheet
2.display page in browser
3.
Actual Results:
Get the fallback font.

Expected Results:
Display Webdings font characters.

It could be that these Microsoft specific fonts are lacking the embedded info to be recognized correctly. Or they could be just ****. Same difference.

I came across this as I was testing @font-face in 3.1b2. These are fonts that not everyone has and would be kinda cool to use some times, instead of images.
