My Search bar in the menu does not work at all. If I type something in and hit Enter, nothing happens. If I type something in and click the magnifying glass, nothing happens--regardless of the search provider selected.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Type something in the search bar.
2. Press Enter or click on the Magnifying Glass.
Actual Results:
Nothing.
Expected Results:
It should pull up a search results page in the browser based on the search engine selected.

Can you try this in safe mode http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode and on a new profile http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Basic+Troubleshooting#Make_a_new_profile . Can you also paste any errors you get in the Error Console with a url starting with chrome://

I opened it in safe mode and still get the error. I do not get any errors.
I tried opening the profile manager and nothing happens. It just opens Firefox... I use Firefox Portable, so that may be why. I will try to do a fresh reinstall tonight and then import the settings.

Can you try to remove the /searchplugins/ folder in your profile and the search.sqlite file? Place them in a different folder (so that you don't lose them) and see if that fixes it for you. See http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Recovering+important+data+from+an+old+profile#Search_engines for more information (read the rest of the page if you can't find your profile).
I moved the profile folder and restarted firefox and it created a new profile. Then the search bar worked. I copied over my search.sqlite file along with my other important files and it works fine now. Thanks for the assist.
