User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 6.0; SLCC1; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; Media Center PC 5.0; .NET CLR 3.5.21022; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET CLR 3.0.30618) Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.0.6) Gecko/2009011913 Firefox/3.0.6 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Firefox could not connect to any website after automatically updating from ver 3.0.5 to 3.0.6. Checked firewall settings to ensure that most updated version of firefox was permitted to access the internet. Firewall did not detect any network activity coming from Firefox as it ran. Re-installation of ver 3.0.6 failed to work. Rebooted computer. ver 3.0.6 still failed to connect. Re-installation of ver 3.0.5 successfully connected to websites. Re-installation of ver 3.0.6 failed to connect. Re-checked firewall settings to ensure most recent version of Firefox was permitted to access the internet. Disabled firewall. Firefox still would not connect. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Downloaded and Firefox Setup 3.0.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ 2.Ran installer 3.Launched Firefox Actual Results: "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.cnn.com." Also could not establish connection to the "Firefox has updated to ver 3.0.6" webpage. Expected Results: Connected to both the updated page as well as cnn.com (homepage) I realize from browsing the previous bug reports that this is not the place for those who are having firewall issues, and sincerely apologize if this is the case. However, I believe I have some understanding of how my firewall works, and am fairly convinced that it is not the problem. Initially I suspected a firewall error, and spent some time ensuring that Firefox was allowed to pass through the firewall. In case it might be a compatibility issue, firewall software is Symantec Endpoint Protection ver 11.0.4000.2295, with Network Threat Protection definitions from January 28, 2009 r3. Thank you for your time
Sorry but bugzilla is not for support questions like this one. Please use http://support.mozilla.com Your case is in 99,9% a firewall issue. Disabling the firewall doesn't stop usual Firewalls from blocking. Please remove the Firefox configuration from your Firewall and let the firewall ask again for the Firefox permissions. That should fix it.
