When saving an html page, Firefox freezes and it can not be terminated by the system explorer. The machine must be shut down and restarted to get rid of a frozen Firefox!

Reproducible: Always

I'm not able to reproduce your problem. Could be caused by a Norton virus scan. In that case, see Bug 458667.

You can not kill it ?
Then it hangs in some kernel mode from some unknown driver.
Which Firewall and other security software do you use ?
