okay, instead of having holy wars about text based email vs. html email, and
where to put bookmarks, how about some uncontroversial improvements?
1. collapsed toolbars. why would I collapse toolbars unless it would save me
space? so why do they print a big fat grey line across my screen? duh.
The correct solution is to do what IE does and have those neato moveable
toolbars. Failing that, at least make them thinner.

David, please state what Milestone or build you saw this problem with.
Testing with yesterday's build on WinNT, when both the navigation toolbar and
the personal toolbar are collapsed, the widgets that will make them re-appear
are placed below the File and Edit menu names, and are no thicker than
the equivalent in Netscape Navigator 4.x. Also, that whole area is white,
not grey (which does look daft under the white menubar, admittedly).
With those details, it seems likely that you are reporting a bug that has
been fixed since the version of Mozilla that you are using was distributed --
possibly bug 37766, "minimising personal and navigation toolbar causes ui
horkage".

Sean: no, it's not that bug, which I remember. This is an RFE for less chrome.
Using a recent M18 build on Linux. Actually with the classic skin it ain't too
bad, and my themes ain't working so I can't check with the modern skin. Why not
WFM it. Meanwhile that brings me to a coupla new bugs I just noticed while
checking this one - mwahahahahahah.... YOU WILL NEVER ESCAPE.

Yep, it's true. The current mechanism is of dubious utility because the
collapsed toolbar takes up so much space (just like in 4.x). Accepting and
marking Future so this issue can be revisited in a future release.

This is not likely to be fixed in itself until we get stacking toolbars, which
is probably not for some time. marking WONTFIX.
