User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.9.0.6) Gecko/2009011913 Firefox/3.0.6
Build Identifier:
I created an account on the Bespin homepage to play around with it.
When typing in the main text field I discovered the following behaviour:
I could not enter the alternative letters (glyphs/signs) into the main text field. By alternative I mean letters for which I need to hold the AtlGr-key on my keyboard.
(On a German Keyboard the AltGr-key is right of the space-bar)
On a German keyboard this means that I am not able to type the following signs:
{[]}\~|
This is obviously dramatic for an IDE. :-)
By the way, I could type these letters in the console of Bespin - but not in the main text-field.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Login on the Bespin Testpage (Currently 0.11)
2. open a text file
3. try to type something like {[]}\~| with a German keyboard
Actual Results:
The expected letters do not show up.
This happens on
WinXP, SP3, German Keyboard, Firefox 3.0.6, latest stable Sun Java RE

Here is an update for the bug:
I just tried the new version of Bespin 0.1.3 on my Linux box.
Here I can access most of the characters (e.g. {[]}\ ). Not sure if this is due to a fix or due to the fact that I use another system (Linux).
However I still can not type composed letters. Explanation: In many Languages you can compose letters e.b. â by typing first ^ and than directly typing a. To type just the ^ sign on has to type a space after hitting the ^-button.
On a German keyboard only the following signs are affected by this bug: ~ and ^
Again I can type these letters in the console of Bespin without a problem, but I cannot type them in the main text-field.
Keep up the good work!

I tested Bespin 0.1.3. again on WinXP SP3:
The problem originally described in the bug still exists.
This means that I am not able to type any characters that require the AltGr-Key on Windows.

I tested this on the version on the web.
After the login it is indicated that this is version 0.1.3.
