Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.go to about:config 2.type "jit" in the Filter 3.see the result Actual Results: Showing something that is unrelated, like "browser.cache.disk.capacity", "browser.cache.offline.capacity" .... Expected Results: Just show the records that have the characters "jit"

Searching for 'jit' in the 'filter box' used to return the two (2)entires for JIT, Chrome & Content. Confirming also in Vista - Setting to New
OS: All → Windows XP
Summary: Filter in about:config is showing something unrelated → Filter in about:config is showing something unrelated whe javascript.options.jit.content=true
Summary: Filter in about:config is showing something unrelated whe javascript.options.jit.content=true → Filter in about:config is showing something unrelated when javascript.options.jit.content=true
Oh, sorry, it should be when the "javascript.options.jit.content=true"
Summary: Filter in about:config is showing something unrelated when javascript.options.jit.content=true → Filter in about:config is showing something unrelated whe javascript.options.jit.content=true
"jit", "bit", "kit" and "cit" get the same results, but "lit" returns a different subset of the "it" results. "cat" same as "bat", but not "lat". "bat" != "bit". Etc.
OS: Windows XP → All

This is OK in the 2/10/09 build Broken in the 2/11/09 build

I guess this is not affecting Linux. Typing "jit" in the filter box just shows me the two jit entries and not more. Using Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.2a1pre) Gecko/20090217 Minefield/3.2a1pre ID:20090217020734

Adding TM to title - since its TraceMonkey related. Turning 'off' JIT.content - in the 2/11 build does show the proper return when filtering for 'jit'
Summary: Filter in about:config is showing something unrelated whe javascript.options.jit.content=true → TM: Filter in about:config is showing something unrelated whe javascript.options.jit.content=true

There was a TM->M-C merge on the 10th...Too many for me to even begin to guess.

WFM in a super-recent TM build with the default prefs of content=true/chrome=false; suggest a merge before we make too much effort at tracking down an exact regression point.
