I'm using the latest netscape PR2 build and when I envoke aim, a sidebar window comes up. I can't even tell it's an aim window. My buddy list item doesn't even appear (I had to go in and enter it manually to the sidebar).
should this be in bugzilla? This sounds more like a bugscape one...

Ok, so, did you run "mozilla" before, specifically, is the profile you are using a "mozilla" profile? What happens if you were to create a new profile? Does it work as expected? This is probably a dup of a bug that we do not migrate mozilla users to NS 6 very well in this area. Please try the above and let me know...
