479088 - [Rando-Orange] Need a machine to run CentOS Reference Platform

To augment our testing, we need a machine from the IT lab machine pool to test CentOS as a machine against itself as a VM.  The machine should be on as similar hardware as possible to the machine requested in bug 479086.

The current reference platform uses CentOS 5.0: https://wiki.mozilla.org/ReferencePlatforms/Linux-CentOS-5.0

Didn't realize the ref image was based on CentOS 5.0 - going to take a bit to suck down that image (oldest we have is 5.2).

Hard to say - there would be many many packages updated since the ref vm was created, but unknown if that would actually break anything. Really depends if Clint wants to be able to compare directly to the VM (bug 479092) without any other differences.

What hardware are you going to use for this ? Can you v2p the ref image ? The pdf at http://www.vmware.com/support/v2p/index.html describes win32 v2p on HP DL360/380.

if we think there are many changes then I want to go with the 5.0 version as per the reference image and not worry about the debate.
