Currently you can browse to the files location and attach it to the email, or you can drag a file from another window into the attachment area and get it included in the email, but you can't copy and paste a file into the attachment section. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.copy a file to the clipboard 2.create a new email 3.attempt to paste the file to the email as an attachment
Think a rfe for mailnews.

This may be covered by bug 379186 or bug 335783, though those are more about the content of what is on the clipboard than a file.
Confirming RFE.

Summary: copy and paste an attachment file → copy and paste clipboard file as attachment
Would be great if pasting a FILE from the clipboard would also work by using the SHORTCUT "Ctrl+V" within the composing window (text area and/or attachment area). Currently pasting a file into the text area with Ctrl+V looks as follows: file:///C:/TEMP/Test.doc instead of getting a real attached file Test.doc

iirc, you are planning to do this in another bug?
