481545 - Cannot Clear History Bar, it automatically populates even if you just click the drop down next to the clear star

I am unable to clear the history from the location bar, once I start typing www. I can see a list of history items, even after I uncheck all save options in browser options privacy and clear history from tools > clear privacy data.

Is there any way to clear the previously visited sites from the location bar, I don't want to see them there, even if they are in my bookmarks. Bookmark links can be hidden from prying eyes by burying them in folders. I don't want them prominently displayed in the url location bar.

This is a terrible new "feature" and I'm sure many others are complaining as well. I would have never "upgraded" to the latest version if I new the feature to clear all traces of where you've been has been disabled and if that wasn't then displaying your bookmarks in the location bar is a bad idea too.

In the location bar there is a gold star by all of the items displayed however I don't want them shown there. How to get rid of them from there. Do I have to delete all my bookmarks?


Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Manually type in a few website address' and surf the internet a little
2.Bookmark a few site (not sure if these are bookmarks or not)
3.Try clearing private data from tools menu and disabling tools > options > privacy ticks and still the location bar has entry's I don't want to be visible
Actual Results:  
Did not clear the location bar from history, bookmarks or whatever they are being called. There should be no links from anywhere showed in the location bar when I clear it. I don't want anything showing there.

Expected Results:  
Nothing should be pre-polulated in the location bar, NOTHING! EMPTY!!!

I don't know if this is a "Feature" or what but people who'd rather not share their browsing history or bookmarks with anyone by typing or clicking the drop down menu in the location bar should have that option.

Install "Hide Unvisited" from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/7429
This functionality will be included in Firefox 3.1 though I'm not sure which bug to dupe this to for that.
