Does this also happen in safe mode with add-ons disabled and preferences reset? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode
looks like your places.sqlite file is locked check that you don't have any firefox.exe process hang in memory. this could also be caused by some antivirus/Security software.
