Seen while running Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.1b3) Gecko/20090305 Firefox/3.1b3

STR:
1. Launch a fresh instance of Firefox.
2. Without doing anything else, File | Print or install the print toolbar icon and select it in the toolbar
3. Wait

Expected: Print dialog should come up instantly

It seems as if the first time I launch the dialog it does not come up instantly. There is a noticeable lag. I see this bug on Tiger as well. On my MBP, the default printer is a local printer, and on the Tiger machine it is a Network printer.

I can't reproduce with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.3a1pre) Gecko/20091201 Minefield/3.7a1pre (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)

On an MBP with many apps running and little free memory, first use of the Print button gave me the Beachball for a few seconds, then the print dialog appeared a few seconds after the cursor returned. On later Print commands, the second delay occurs but not the first.

In comparison tests, Entourage 2008 shows the same delay profile, while Adium and Safari are faster and do not SBoD.
