(Whiteboard: [CalDAV server: DAViCal 0.9.6][CalDAV server: Zimbra])
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.0.7) Gecko/2009030423 Ubuntu/8.10 (intrepid) Firefox/3.0.7
Build Identifier: 2008092321
I keep my calendar and tasks on a CalDAV server. When I change data on the server (without using Lightning to do so) the calendars are updated in Lightning but the tasks aren't. The only time the task list gets refreshed is when I restart Thunderbird.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Connect to calendar with task list using Lightning
2. Connect to calendar using a different CalDAV client (Lightning on another machine or another program on the same machine), and create or delete a task
3. Click the Reload button in Lightning.
Actual Results:
Lightning doesn't reflect the changes made in the other CalDAV session, only those changes it made itself...even after clicking the Reload button. Events do update correctly.
Expected Results:
Tasks should update whenever Lightning reloads the calendar.
I see the same problem both on Ubuntu Linux 8.10 x86_64 and on Mac OS X 10.4 PowerPC.
My calendar server consists of DAViCal 0.9.6 running on Ubuntu 8.04.

Does this issue still exists using Thunderbird 3.0b2 or 3.0b3pre together with recent Lightning 1.0pre nightly test build?

It still exists with Thunderbird 3.0b2 with Lightning 1.0pre on Mac OS X. I haven't been able to find the Linux x86_64 nightly builds to test with.

My company have moved from Exchange to Zimbra and we're experiencing this same issue with Thunderbird 2.0.0.21 (20090409) and Lightning 0.9.
I will download and test the lastest nightly builds.

We have a davical 0.9.7.1 server and a shared calendar on it via CalDAV. I am using TB 3.0b3 and current lightning nightlies. A fellow of mine uses Evolution.
When a fellow of mine enters a new EVENT, everything is fine, i.e. manual as well as periodic reloading of remote calendars show me the new EVENT.
With tasks this is different!
When a fellow of mine enters a new TASK, neither manual nor periodic reloading show me the new TASK.
So, I can confirm this bug with TB 3.0b3 and current lightning nightlies.

Just found that when I export the calendar to a .ics file, the task is contained in the file as expected.

I'm closing this bug, since it seems resolved. Please reopen if you have more information and it still exists.
John, if the problem persists, please tell us what caldav server you are using. Also enable calendar.debug.log and calendar.debug.log.verbose in the advanced config editor (Options > Advanced > General > Config Editor) and check your error console for messages.
