I created a discussion forum topic for CMT's "general discussion" and it only appeared in the audience I selected -- "Community @ SFx". I assumed it would appear in the forum I selected.
Can someone look into it? It should post in the selected forum by default.
Thanks!
Mary from what I see you did create the forums in the groups you selected..
here http://www.spreadfirefox.com/node/499
and
http://www.spreadfirefox.com/cmt
or node is
http://www.spreadfirefox.com/node/3398/
1. Forums: * Select -General Discussion
2. Audience: Select Your Group or in your case groups
can you be more specific and what you want done ?
or are you all set

mary - I've actually been bothered by this UI, while it makes it easy to share discussions across more than one project (let's say two projects are working together on the same thing) I'm not sure the extra UI is worth it for our current uses.
Anyway, by default it should go into the forum you created from, but you have to ctrl+click to select more. Does that make sense to what happened?
Actually, I have to say I quite like the feature for events stuff that crosses a lot of audiences :)
My issue here is that they don't appear in the very forum you select. I had edited the Community Marketing Forum as an audience after I realized it wasn't appearing there.
Jamey: Re. that post - I added the correct audience after it didn't appear in the discussion form I selected.
This isn't happening by default :(

Yes, there is a little work to be done here.
Currently for D5 / D6 if a site administrator creates a group forum topic the forum dictates the group, so the group audience looks to be unnecessary for forum topics.
Ill come back to this after the site relaunch and get it fixed with the community for D6

Looking into this now ..

It looks as though this problem no longer affects us on D5 as we no longer have "audience checkboxes" enabled
However i have fixed this problem on the D6 branch so that:
1. when you post a forum post to the group you will not see any audience selection just the group name as text.
2. when you post a non forum post to the group you will be able to post that
content into multiple groups if the "audience checkboxes" is enabled
I'll work to get these changes post on D.o over the coming week.
Best, Paul
Hey there: I realize audiences help, but it's not intuitive. People except it to show up in the group discussion form they selected. If there is a way to fix this we should. Kinda sucks currently :(

"I realize audiences help, but it's not intuitive. People except it

When you post a forum post into a group and see an audience of many groups that is confusing as you can only select one forum from one of your groups. The group your posting into is implict in the forum selection.
Currently OG is configured not to show audiences so that it is not possible to post into multiple groups (for non forum content)
