Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; fr; rv:1.9.0.7) Gecko/2009021910 Firefox/3.0.7 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; fr; rv:1.9.0.7) Gecko/2009021910 Firefox/3.0.7 I have my proxy settings saved in firefox, and when I start a new firefox session, if I begin to type a word in the open-search field, then I get the proxy authentication dialog that pops up in the middle of the world I type (I guess it is because firefox is looking for potential matches to the word I began typing). The problem is that it is so quick that I end up typing in the login field instead of the search field, thus erasing the automatically saved login Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.start firefox behind a proxy with proxy authentication (login+password) already saved in the "firefox passwords" 2.start typing a google research in the research toolbar 3.proxy authentication pops up and cursor is on the login field Actual Results: thus you end up erasing the proxy "login" field (only typing one letter is enough to erase it and you merely have time to react to the authentication dialog and stop typing). Expected Results: possible solutions : not placing the cursor on the login field (maybe in the ok button instead) not allowing the user to type in the login field for about one or two seconds, so he has the time to realise he was teleported from the open search field to the proxy authentication login field
Summary: proy authentication dialigue too intrusive → proxy authentication dialogue too intrusive
