If one opens "Preferences", "Content", "Colors", and unchecks "Allow pages to choose.....", background images will not load on web pages.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.See above.
2.
3.
Actual Results:
See above.
Expected Results:
It should only have changed the colors, and had no affect on the page images.
This appears to be a fairly serious problem as it is not intuitively associated with the feature that caused it, and it also causes one to become unable to view web content that is the very reason one uses a browser.

Somewhat of a duplicate, but that one wandered a bit, if I understood it correctly.
In any case, this needs to be seen as a serious issue, and if it has been going on for years and many versions, it is high time to fix it. I'm actually very surprised to learn that the problem was first noticed in 2005. Imagine!
