Now and then when I access the editor directly (via URL) rather than via the open command for example, the page isn't loaded with the contents, and the "project : file" label is empty too. If you hit reload it appears. There is probably some race condition. The easiest way that I have found to try to reproduce this is to come in via the dashboard using the keyboard.

Are you sure this isn't a result of funky Firebug problems? I've never had this problem, except when Firebug was set to send XHR message to its Console. And even then it was 100% reproducible, IIRC.
