As part of the www.mozilla.org's transition from CVS to SVN we need to have a replacement for Doctor -- something that will let people edit content on the site without having to directly use a version control tool. We'd like to look into using Bespin for this.
For an example of how the current functionality works, just click on the 'Edit this Page' link on any page except the home page. For instance, for the About page that link takes you to
https://doctor.mozilla.org/?action=edit&file=mozilla-org/html/about/index.html
Would something similar (or better) be possible using Bespin?

This currently isn't possible because Bespin hasn't added support for editing random open source repositories. I'm not sure which bug that is, but we also might care about bug 474900.

Kevin, I'm CCing you on this bug because it requires Subversion support in Bespin in order to happen.
(In response to comment 1, this has been added on the 0.2.x line of Bespin.)

Some basic progress has been made with getting SVN support into Bespin. Follow bug 493038 if you're interested.

Great news. Even if there's just basic SVN support for now maybe we could try embedding it on the staging site and see what happens?

Once all the code gets pulled into where it's supposed to go, I'll look into what that might entail and get back to you.

Basic SVN support is now in Bespin, but I'll still need to implement SSH support for the type of connection Mozilla.org uses. (See bug 493038 for details.)

As an update, things are being refactored right now in the Bespin Reboot and it sounds like there may be something suitable for use on mozilla.org later in November or in December.

Closing old Mozilla.org website bugs due to them not being relevant to the new Python-based Bedrock system. Re-open if this is a critical bug and should be resolved on the new system too.
