I thought about changing the Thunderbird logo image with something like the "I want you in the US army" image. Peopel would probably notice that more. I have too issues with that, the first one being finding an image we could use. The second would be a branding one.

Questions: 1. We want to be brief, but if the emphasis is we really need more people, more help - I think we we need to make that part stronger. I haven't really thought this through but off the cuff: - Perhaps give examples? Like, "Community product needs more community participants." - More desperate tone? Like, "We don't have enough people to keep up with the excellent incoming comments and bug reports." 2. Is H1 useful/sufficient? Is it intended to be a heading for just the new item? Or is it for everything that follows? It reads more like the latter. And thus it feels like "Join the team..." is not being emphasized. (I don't have improved wording to suggest ATM - but #3 may help) 3. I think ludo's instincts are correct - this seems to want to be set off in some special way so it's more clear this is a special appeal/important need. Remember, this is our biggest, most directly accessible, but perhaps most untapped resource. How do we do that? Box it? Offset it? Color? Add a graphic? 4. The "new message" may be lost/missed if so much of the old text stays there. What can we remove/tighten up or collapse? (see below) Other suggested/needed changes ... Submit a Bug If you notice any problems with this version of Shredder, please file a bug using these instructions. [suggest remove " with this version of Shredder"] Submit Crash Reports Please use the Crash Reporter and turn it on when it asks. The Crash Reporter gives us really valuable data on which crashes are the most serious, and how often people encounter them. Click 'OK' when the Crash Reporter prompts you to send feedback. (I was an advocate for the more explicit, original wording above. But it is too long. It has inaccuracies - not sure how we missed that. And it does not encourage users to offer a comment, which we had discussed at one point. Suggest the following ...) Please use the Mozilla Crash Reporter when Shredder crashes, and add a brief comment about what you were doing. It gives us valuable data on which crashes are the most serious, and how people encounter them. 'Tell Mozilla' must be checked, and add a comment before you click 'Restart' or 'Quit'.

My linguistic instincts aren't very good at coming up with phrases, but I would agree to keep it brief and simple. Add a graphic only if it doesn't distract.

Incorporated wayne's comments. Having the bulleted list and having this at the top of the page should offset it enough from the rest of the page. We can keep text and image tasks separate so when this text is ready to go lets push it live.
