48823 - UI support for multiple identities per account

Currently, you can have multiple pop accounts in mozilla.  Then, those
pop accounts appear in the From: part of mail composition.  I
would like to be able to make more entries for the From: part w/o
creating the folders.  I have a bunch of email forwarding accounts,
and send email as those addresses to avoid spam.  Thanks!

Updating bug to reflect the actual request, accepting for the future. It's too 
late for us to add this at this stage, but it's something I'd like to add in 
future releases. We have some backend support for this already, but it's not 
very solid.

I don't believe this bug is a duplicate.  The bug 44863 deals with multiple 
profiles and signatures.  I would like to see a way to create multiple From: 
addresses (identies) without creating multiple inboxes for each email address.  
Currently I have a bunch of forwarders pointing to one address.  I would like to 
pickup my mail at one address and then be able to select the corrosponding email 
address, even though I will never pickup any email for the forwarding address.  
Do you understand what I mean?  :)  It's kinda hard to explain, but I tried.

I understand what you mean, but this bug really is a dupe of the other, I swear.
What you're describing is what we mean by "identities" - not mail accounts, or
mail servers, but identities.
