Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install Firefox 2. Set Firefox to the default browser 3. Actual Results: Mozilla Firefox changed name to Firefox in the start menu, and "Firefox settings" and "Safe mode" got unavailable when right clicking Firefox in the start menu. Expected Results: - OS: Windows XP x64 Edition Service Pack 2 English (Swedish MUI HAS been used). Several re-installations has been done. Every uninstall was made with "Revo Uninstaller" which completely removes Firefox paths, registry paths and such. -------------------- Build configuration : -------------------- about:buildconfig Build platform target i686-pc-mingw32 Build tools Compiler Version Compiler flags cl 14.00.50727.762 -GL -wd4624 -wd4952 -TC -nologo -W3 -Gy -Fd$(PDBFILE) cl 14.00.50727.762 -GR- -GL -wd4624 -wd4952 -TP -nologo -Zc:wchar_t- -W3 -Gy -Fd$(PDBFILE) Configure arguments --enable-application=browser --enable-update-channel=release --enable-optimize --disable-debug --disable-tests --enable-update-packaging --enable-official-branding --enable-jemalloc --with-crashreporter-enable-percent=10

Could you attach a screenshot of the startmenu to this bug?
(In reply to comment #1) > Could you attach a screenshot of the startmenu to this bug? Yeah, sure. Before it looked like this: http://i39.tinypic.com/wstsav.jpg (Where "Firefox-inställningar" is "Firefox settings" and "Firefox felsäkert läge" is "Safe mode") After it looked like this: http://i39.tinypic.com/1z2ge3s.jpg (Where "Internet-egenskaper" is the same as the properties as for IE7 (IE7 settings window will startup instead) and by the way - one more post was created under the "Start menu internet shortcut" dropdown list, as you can see in the last picture.
After-picture (When Firefox was set as default browser). Check the additional comments for a before-picture.

What does happen when you change the default browser settings directly in the dialog Windows offers? Do such menu entries return when setting IE as default browser?
Same thing there. In what way do you think that the entries would return? It would obviously open the IE settings since you've set IE as default browser then. By the by, I am not currently using XP x64 anymore, this time I'm using the 32-bit XP edition and it works good setting the browser as default, no menus are disappearing. And I also found an entry about the same bug here: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=326137

Good finding vipiish. That should be the identical problem. Seems like all 64bit systems are affected.
