If at some point Firefox no longer works or has significant issues with an unsupported OS we will need to inform the user prior to installing that installing is not recommended or prevent installation.
OS: Windows Vista → All
Hardware: x86 → All
Michael, this is specifically for Windows and we don't have the ability to specify Windows only via bugzilla so we just specify a single Windows version.
OS: All → Windows 2000
Why don't we do that for all OS (okay, yeah, Windows and Mac)?
Different installer in Mac OS X (e.g. dmg) with limited capabilities. If this were to be requested for Mac OS X it would need to be a separate bug.

The thread URL is titled
"Proposal Round 2: Drop active support of Windows 2000, Windows XP (no service pack) and Windows XP SP1"
Isn't that a duplicate of bug 668574?

Otherwise, what is this bug about, more precisely?
Ftr, initial "MinUnsupportedVer" define was added in bug 352510.
This has to do with allowing the user to install on an unsupported version whereas that bug prevents a user from installing on an unsupported version. I might decide to wontfix this at some point but not yet.
Time has shown that this would at most provide a very small benefit so wontfixing
