Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.2; en-US; rv:1.9.0.8) Gecko/2009032609 Firefox/3.0.8 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)

Once upon a time a website I visited frequently went down for several days, during which I made periodic checks to see if it was back yet.

They had a temporary page up saying "The site is down." The <title> of that page was "Connection Problems" (or for the other site I have this issue with, "<site name> is temporarily offline").

Pages that change frequently, such as XKCD.com I do not have a problem with (the title always changes to the most recently viewed stip's title), but these two web pages held the title over the course of several days, and even months later (of visiting at least once a day) my Awesome Bar still thinks that the title of the Bay12Games forum is "Connection Problems."

I could clear my browsing history, I suppose, but I don't want to do that, as it messes up a fundamental way of how I use the internet. The autocomplete on FireFox 3 is fantastic and frequently use it to find things I looked at weeks ago merely by remembering a few characters.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have a page that had a static <title> for months change its title
2. Load the page's url
3. Go somewhere else
4. use the autocomplete on the page's url
5. Observe the autocomplete retaining the old <title>

I haven't tried to intentionally reproduce as I'd like to not fubar my address bar any further.
Actual Results:
Old page title is retained, despite change.

Expected Results:
Autocomplete should recognize the new <title> and update it's cache.

Heck if I remember what I may have installed all those months back.

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h".

In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows:
Tools | Message Filters
Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New"
Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h
Change the action to "Delete Message".
Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top.
Click OK.

Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter.

I get the same issue, I actually think it's always been this way.
