Asterisk has dead spots every few seconds

Details
Every few seconds in conference calls the voice drops for a fraction of a second. It makes it hard but not impossible to understand. It also happens in the menu system when first dialing in.
Everyone on the call I'm on right now is experiencing it so I don't think it's on my end.

As far as I can tell it's an upstream problem with Junction networks. Try calling in via 866-500-1038 or 650-215-7299, which come in through a different provider. I'm working on troubleshooting with Junction in the meantime.

Ditto, and we had similar problems in the SUMO call two hours previous.
I also had to dial in 4 times before I could get through. Asterisk kept
hanging up on me before I could get into my conference.

Just a status update, I spent about an hour on the phone with a tech from Junction Networks this afternoon troubleshooting this... he tweaked a few things, and the problem seemed to go away as far as we can tell. However, most of the conference calls were also ending about the same time, so if was in any way load related, we can't really tell yet. He also says their network monitoring was showing a few random dips in their traffic levels on their Level3 link that were a little bit unusual between 1pm and 2pm eastern today, and we are routing through Level3 to get to them, so it's possible it was something Level3 did that screwed it up. In any case, we do have a working SIP link with them now in addition to the IAX one, and next time this happens I should be able to fail over to that on the fly, which may or may not solve anything at all, but will give more data points to debug it with in any case. There's also the other two numbers listed in comment 2 that go through Sigmatel instead of Junction that can be used as fallbacks.

I just got an email from Junction Networks stating they did identify an issue on their end that was probably causing the IAX traffic dropouts, and have resolved the issue, so we shouldn't be seeing this anymore.

The old 650 number is working great today. Thanks.
