It would be nice if we could get numbers of daily hits on seamonkey-project.org/releases/updates/*.rdf (by file), as those are more or less the same as update pings are for toolkit-based apps, even if the default setting in xpfe SeaMonkey is for only weekly checks for updates on those files. It might not be feasible to get the numbers continuously, but having numbers from a representative sample could already give us some better estimate of regular users on xpfe-based (i.e. current stable) versions of SeaMonkey. justdave said on IRC though that even "continuously might be possible, just means a cron job to count it up and mail it somewhere periodically or something" If it's not too hard to do, that would of course be really cool :)

Where does it mail the numbers to? I haven't seen any mail since you marked this fixed. Thanks for the initial numbers, btw.
Reopening this because I don't manage to get in contact with chizu on IRC. We talked about this on IRc once and figured out that the mails were sent with a bad From address, and chizu had tested sending it with the correct one manually, but the cron script is still sending with old, bad one and so the receiving SMTP server denies delivering it.

Restructured the script for this, cron was dropping the line following '--' used to pass the extra mail parameters. It should be working now.
Yes, fixed now, I get the mails correctly, thanks.
