Every time I download something with a web browser, I save it to an "in"
directory on my hard drive, and then I open it manually with Windows Explorer.
I don't want to open it directly off of the server, since the temp file will
be deleted when I'm done with it.
I would like to see a feature that allows me to "run" the download after it has
been saved to the specified directory automatically. (Using the associated
program, same as double-clicking in windows Explorer). I'm not sure, but I
think that IE has an option like this.

7.0??? How about 1.x? Waiting six major versions seems a tad excessive ... :-)
Oops. I meant "the Mozilla version corresponding to the version that the people
who pay me call 7.0".

accepted for nsbeta1. scheduled into mozilla0.9
Target Milestone: --- → mozilla0.9
This feature has been in mozilla for a little while, in the download progress
window there's a "Launch File" and "Reveal Location" buttons. Just make sure you
have the "Keep this window open after the download is complete" checkbox
checked. ;-)
