The command line in the Firefox launcher ends in ' "%s"' (i.e.: <some path>/firefox/firefox "%s"). After it starts, the browser interprets this as a URL and tries to go to http://s/ (which for me redirects to http://wwwwh.found-not-help.com/search?qo=s&rn=Mw2R_WwO6NDp_TL&rg=). The command line in the launcher was created when I ran Firefox for the first time and asked it to be the default browser (this is on FC9 which came with Firefox version 3.0b5).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Firefox is not running.
2.Click on the Firefox launcher icon.
3.
Actual Results:  
Starts normally and attempts to load http://s/

Expected Results:  
Blank page.

I removed the ' "%s"' from the launcher command line and now it works fine.

This is a mass search for bugs which are in the Firefox General component, are
UNCO, have not been changed for 500 days and have an unspecified version. 

Reporter, can you please update to Firefox 3.6.10 or later, create a fresh profile, http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/managing+profiles, and test again. If you still see the issue, please update this bug. If the issue is gone, please set the status to RESOLVED > WORKSFORME.

No reply from reporter, INCOMPLETE. Please retest with Firefox 3.6.12 or later and a new profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). If you continue to see this issue with the newest firefox and a new profile, then please comment on this bug.
