Storing new bookmark results in MULTIPLE entries without an http address these cannot be deleted. Organize does not allow movement of a bookmark from one folder to another. Reproducible: Always

Could you please try to reproduce the problem in safe mode with add-ons disabled? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode
Okay...I went to safe mode in firefox and disabled the add-ons. the multiple entries in bookmarks are gone...also gone is the original bookmark. entries with name only [meaning there is no location](and there are many) cannot be deleted or moved.
Do you have any add-ons that interact with your bookmarks (Xmarks, Delicious, etc.)? Even though you disabled add-ons in safe mode, it's possible some add-on affected your bookmarks while you were using it. Did the problem start after you installed or upgraded an add-on? Did it start after you upgraded Firefox? In comment 2 you say the multiple entries are gone but entries with name only still still exist, but in comment 0 you say it's the multiple entries that have names only.
Let me say this has been a problem since before the end of March so what ever release of Firefox was out then. (I was away most of April [off the computer]. The addons I have installed are: BugMeNot 2.1 distrust 0.8.1 Driver Agent 2.2008.11.18 Forcefield tool bar 1.3.153.0 IE tab 1.5.2009207 Microsoft.net framework assistant 1.0 U can decide if they are a problem since I donot know the application nomenclature. When the problem started...it could have begun when distrust was added but that was a while ago. Yes, multiple entries that have only names. no http addresses in the LOCATION column.
looking at the list sounds like could be caused by Forcefield tool bar.
so what u are telling me is that from one FOXFIRE update to the next code has been introduced to change what worked with Forcefield in place to no longer work with force field. Sounds like a cop out to me! Guess I will just have to go back to OPera again.....till it gets corrected.
I'm just asking if you could verify if the issue is due to ForceField, temporarly removing it or trying with a new profile http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profile+New Are you using latest version of the forcefield toolbar?
I have forcefield installed but do not have the tool bar on any foil except IE which I do not use. Interestingly there is no problem bookmarking anything in OPERA. How would I set up a new profile and NOT bring in zonealarm & forcefield?
Reporter, are you still having this problem with Firefox 3.5?
Not after I completely uninstalled FIREFOX ...killed all bookmarks and stated over!
looks like it was a corrupted profile then. Sorry, we don't have enough informations to debug what happened.
