I can't reproduce this problem.
It's possible your machine is syncing history down from the server. If you don't want that, disable history sync under the Weave preferences.

I just unchecked 'Browsing History' from Weave > Data and Cleared Recent History > Everything > Clear Now, but still that same 10 sites are there under History.
Now any Mozilla developer wants to gain access of my PC using TeamViewer, let me know as I'm fine with it.

Are those sites bookmarked? What happens if you quit Firefox after clearing and restarting?

This sounds like a places bug, maybe?
@ Edward Lee (Mardak)
No those sites were no bookmarks.
And yea, I always keep settings to 'Clear Everything' on Firefox exit (accept passwords and Site Preferences). So even after cleaning everything and then quitting Firefox, those 10 sites were still there under History.
Last night I formatted the PC to install Windows 7 RC. On a new Minefield installation, I unchecked 'Browsing History' under Weave > Preferences > Data BEFORE I synced the Weave.
Finally those 10 sites under History are gone :)

uh ohh, some random sites are back in History once again (even though I have un-checked Browsing History in Weave) but this time the sites are different than earlier.
And as I mentioned in my earlier post, "On a new Minefield
installation, I unchecked 'Browsing History' under Weave > Preferences > Data
BEFORE I synced the Weave".
Any help on what would make that random history disappear ??

Can you disable Weave in the addons manager and try again?
@ Dan Mills
Cleared complete history > Disabled Weave > Restarted Minefield > Those same sites are still in History > Cleared complete history > No change, History is still there.
Just installed Minefield on fresh installation of Ubuntu 9.04 and un-checked 'Browsing History' before syncing Weave and those same sites are back again under History.
OS : Ubuntu 9.04
Minefield : Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.2a1pre) Gecko/20090512 Minefield/3.6a1pre

You said this only happens on trunk? Could be bug 489900.

well bug# 489900 says, "Bookmarked items are listed under "History" menu, and cannot clear them" while the sites I have under History are not all bookmarked (some of 'em are though) but more or less sounds like it.

That more or less means it's not Weave-related (unless Weave is somehow corrupting the DB in such a way that those sites can't be cleared).

one question though about the sites under History...
I have not visited some of those sites after fresh installations (Win 7 RC / Ubuntu 9.04). In fact, some of 'em I haven't visited in over a month.
So how come they can re-appear without Weave ?? And they appear only after syncing Weave (Browsing History was un-checked)

jags: Can you update to the latest trunk nightly and see if you still run into this issue? (20090515)
