492260 - Prism fails to start after system upgrade, false error message claims Prism already running

"Prism is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Prism process, or restart your system." 

After a system update and install of new themes I now cannot run Prism to create new Prism apps as I get this error message.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Prism 0.9.1
2. Install all updates on Ubuntu Jaunty
3. Start Prism
Actual Results:  
Error message as above, Prism fails to start. Error message is incorrect and suggested solutions fail to fix problem.

Expected Results:  
Prism should start as normal and allow me to create a new Prism app. I've been using Prism for a long time and it has always worked until now.

I'm using Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04 with linux kernel 2.6.27-11-generic (can't use anything later, but that's another bug), Gnome 2.26.1.

Tried using default theme and bug still occurs. Will try removing new themes I installed and see if that fixes the problem.

Removing new themes and restarting does not fix the problem, which remains as stated above.

I get the same error trying to use Prism with Fedora 10, following this how to guide: http://blog.kagesenshi.org/2008/05/prism-090-static-rpm-spec.html

If I delete my /.prism and /.webapps folders and start over it fixes this issue, although, of course, it is unsatisfactory workaround as I lose all my webapps.

Just re-installed Ubuntu Jaunty and Prism seems to be working fine. No new themes for me this time, I think ;-)

I can confirm this same problem with Prism 1.0b2 as a Firefox 3.6 extension (Ubuntu 3.6~hg20100108r33503+nobinonly-0ubuntu1~umd1~karmic).  If I run Prism as a standalone app it works fine.

Each time I try to start Prism, it re-creates the .parentlock file in my profile folder.  Removing my .prism and .webapps directories had no effect.  Anything else I can try to debug this?

Prism isn't maintained anymore. Mass closing of the bugs.
