Our goal for including a news feed (RSS/ATOM) in the live bookmark is to demonstrate dynamic, changing and relevant content. We would suggest you choose something your users are interested in and that is locally relevant. By default this is the same as en-US, which is BBC news.
Gion-Andri, do you have any suggestions?
The implementation is done via a change of the redirect on mozilla.com, and is a server-side change only.

There are two sources of news in romaisch:
The newspaper "La Quotidiana"
and the radio/tv station "RTR".
At the moment, (I think) only "La Quotidiana" offers a RSS-Feed (http://www.suedostschweiz.ch/service/rss/front.cfm?publikation=lq).
But RTR would be better (they are more up-to-date). Shall I ask RTR if they could also offer a RSS-Feed?

I've asked them today.

Hey Gion-Andri,
Have you heard from RTR? If you wish, I can try to contact them as well. Just let me know. Thanks.

In the last week, I didn't heart something. On my first mail, they wanted more information. But since then, they didn't answer.
Maybe, it would be nice if you could also write. Maybe, this makes a more official impression...
I don't know an official contact address for the IT-people there. But you can go on www.rtr.ch -> contact -> contact/feedback and fill the form.

Today, RTR sent me an email. But they wrote only, that the editorship has to decide, and that the decision isn't yet taken...

Thanks, Gion-Andri, for the update. Please keep us posted when you hear again from RTR.

I've just received an e-mail from RTR. They send this link:
http://www.rtr.ch/rtr/index.html?siteSect=804
Is this the right format to include?

What's about this feed? Firefox doesn't give me a message to make a live bookmark, so I think there are some kind of meta-data missing. (?) If yes, can you give more details, so that I can contact RTR again?

I checked the feed you provided above with the W3C feed validator here: http://validator.w3.org/feed/check.cgi That tool says that this is not a valid feed. "It looks like this is a web page, not a feed. I looked for a feed associated with this page, but couldn't find one. Please enter the address of your feed to validate."
However, when I check the URL in Firefox, it does look like an XML feed. So, I'll file the bug with Mozilla IT to implement the above RTR URL as the rm "live bookmark". We may need to do some testing first to see if it works.

I've asked RTR to fix the Feed. Now Firefox recognises the feed. It's now possible to use it as "live bookmark".

Could you please implement this one?

Hi!
Will Firefox 3.6 come with the RTR news as default feed? I would be very happy, because the current bbc news in english are quite useless for rumantsch speakers. thank you!

Gion-Andri: as per your comment 9, I understand that RTR gave the permission to use their feed in Firefox [rm]? Could you please forward this email to me for archiving purposes?
I'll ask IT to set up the redirect once you confirm that we have the permission.
Thanks!
