The result you get is:
<span id="w">s<naps/> x <naps/>a<naps><vid/><vid>

This doesn't really make sense, I think. I think the result should be:
<span id="w">s<div></div><span>a</span> x </span>

So I guess the RLO character needs to be ignored or something like that.
